Second Chance: SAT Edition
A week before the SAT, I convinced my parents to clear out fifty rooms at our family hotel to provide free lodging for my entire class. However, after the exams, our class president, Nina Chadwick, whose performance plummeted, led a false rumor campaign claiming hotel construction noise disrupted her, making a post that went viral. The hotel was forced to close, my parents lost their savings and aged overnight, and none of the classmates I helped spoke up for me. Reborn to the week before the exams, when confronted with parents’ queries about room reservations and classmates’ moral pressure for free lodging, I coldly refused: not a single room. This time around, I focused on my own preparation, protecting my family and our business. Ultimately, I scored top marks through my own efforts, watching those who maligned us suffer their consequences, and bid farewell to that painful chapter of misplaced trust in my youth.
